W. Palm Beach, Fla. (PRWEB) October 12, 2007 -- Talk show host Joe Raineri who's already leading an on air and grassroots revolt against Florida's "fix" to the property tax mess, has now embarked on a new mission to re-energize the state's real estate market.

"There's so much gloom and doom from the media and their analysts," says Raineri, host of What Are You Kidding Me? The Real Estate Show With An Attitude on 1290am WJNO in West Palm Beach. "But that negative talk is only making matters worse. People need a reason to be excited about real estate again. "

So he's taking his show on the road to motivate and educate the public and other realtors on why this real estate market offers opportunities for first-time homebuyers and real estate investors.

"There are a lot of great foreclosure opportunities in this market but buyers and real estate agents need to know what they're doing," says Raineri.

He says he worries about the so-called real estate gurus who swoop into cities to supposedly show people how to "get rich quick" by buying real estate but are really only experts in swindling money "because they don't teach you anything," says Raineri.

That's why Raineri, a sought after foreclosure consultant for the past 15 years, is putting together seminars in cities statewide and lending his name to the effort that will assemble all the major players involved in real estate transactions. Participants will hear from title companies, lenders, home inspectors and contractors as well as current loss mitigation representatives who will guide them in understanding how lenders view foreclosures and short sales.

In this type of volatile real estate market, he says, it's vital for real estate agents and would-be buyers to understand the short sale process from every angle and to realize that there's a good chance they'll be working with someone desperate to sell.

"Being able to work with distressed homeowners and to know what lender's look for could be the difference between success and failure," says Raineri.

He says it's not necessary to have years of experience to make money with foreclosures and short sales, but it's important to realize it's not simple either.

"Many think short sales are just putting the forms together and then submitting them to the lender," says Raineri, "there's a lot more to it."

Dallas, TX (Vocus) August 22, 2007 -- In commemoration of Mexico's independence from Spain, the Consulate General of México will celebrate the "official" Grito de Dolores" or "El Grito de la Independencia" on Saturday, September 15, 2007, led by the Honorable Enrique Hubbard Urrea, head of the Mexican Consulate in Dallas.

The celebration will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Smirnoff Music Center, located at 1818 First Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75210 in Fair Park. On September 16, 1825, Mexico officially declared this day as the national Indepencence Day. It is the most important national patriotic day for all Mexicans.

One may explore Mexico's history fight for independence from Spain and find it intriguing, cruel, and inspiring. Among the many heroes who risked and gave their lives for liberty were military leaders, and thinkers like Captain Ignacio Allende, Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a devout Catholic priest, teacher and leader, courageous women like Doña Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, and a brave youth nicknamed El Pipila.

On September 16, 1810, the church bells rang as customary to call the Indian village to mass, except that on this day, they were called to lift arms, mainly sticks and rocks, against the Gachupines, or native Spaniards. The multitude of rebels carried banners and images of the Guadalupe Virgin, the olive-skinned Madonna and standard of faith, tradition and heritage of all Mexicans. Three hundred years of slavery culminated the pain and desperation for freedom. The church bells called and the revolution and fight for liberty began.

El Grito de Independencia is literally the shout for freedom! Mexicans, generation after generation, have celebrated this date with reverence to the independence heroes and gratitude for freedom. This is the most important national holiday in Mexico and Mexicans celebrate throughout the world el Grito de Dolores or Grito de la Independencia!

The Consulate General of México invites the community from the North Texas region to celebrate together the significance of this important holiday. The event will include food, music, folkloric dances from various regions of Mexico, children's activities such as face painting, bouncing house, comic shows, and various booths representing local businesses. Signage will be displayed leading to the event and to free parking area.

W. Palm Beach, Fla. (PRWEB) July 17, 2007 -- Radio talk show host Joe Raineri may not be the only Floridian angry with lawmakers' "fix" to the property tax crisis. But he might just be the most vocal.

He was so incensed when he heard the plan to offer a one-time "super" homestead exemption to homeowners, that on a whim on his show he talked about creating a grassroots organization to defeat it.

Listeners to his show What Are You Kidding Me? The Real Estate Show With An Attitude on 1290am WJNO in West Palm Beach took him seriously.

"Listeners responded and pushed for it," says Raineri. "The citizens of this state have been screaming for property tax reform and the plan our legislators have come up with is not good enough!"

The new organization, NOT GOOD ENOUGH (http://www.NotGoodEnoughFlorida.org) is now in full gear. And momentum is building.

Raineri says as word of it spreads, people from across the state are visiting the web site to sign up and join the effort.

In January 2008, for the property tax plan to become law, voters will need to approve it because it requires a constitutional amendment.

The plan, passed by lawmakers in special session, would create a "Super Homestead" exemption.

Backers of the reform plan claim most homeowners will see their tax bills drop by 44 percent. They say the proposed amendment would eliminate inequities in the current property tax system. Currently, those who've lived in their homes a long time pay a great deal less in property taxes than homeowners who purchased property after values soared.

But Raineri says the plan is nothing more than a temporary fix and creates more uncertainty for property owners.

"This proposed Super Homestead Exemption does not address the long-term needs of the citizens of Florida," says Raineri. "We the people wanted meaningful property tax reform for all classes of property owners--not just primary homeowners."

The proposed constitutional amendment does not address Florida's seasonal residents or those who own second homes.

"Our elected officials must know we will not settle for short-term fixes to long-term issues," says Raineri. "Florida citizens deserve better than this."

Raineri is advocating for a plan originally proposed by House Speaker Mark Rubio. The plan calls for an increase in the sales tax and elimination of property taxes. Lawmakers never seriously considered it.

About What Are You Kidding Me? The Real Estate Show With An Attitude Radio Show: The show, hosted by Joe Raineri, airs on 1290am WJNO in West Palm Beach. Raineri talks about the many real estate issues facing Florida homeowners today.

New York City, NY (PRWEB) June 25, 2007 -- George Zouvelos, President & CEO of (SBB) Spartan Bail Bonds, Inc. (formerly President & CEO of Affordable Bail Bonds, Inc. a New York State corporation) announced today the newest New York location opposite the Staten Island (Richmond County) Criminal Court 74 Targee Street, Staten Island, New York 10304. The newest state of the art Spartan Bail Bonds location is geographically situated conveniently and directly across the historic Richmond County Criminal Courthouse on Staten Island New York.

"Spartan Bail Bonds has successfully landed on the Staten Island shores slightly over a month after our grand opening in New York City Manhattan 81 Baxter Street bail bond headquarters location, states George Zouvelos, President & CEO of (SBB) Spartan Bail Bonds, Inc. (formerly President & CEO of Affordable Bail Bonds, Inc. a New York State corporation. "Statistically Staten Island does not have the high number of insurance company bails were the majority of New York bail bond company entrepreneurs would be jumping at the chance to set-up business here. I have brought Spartan Bails to Staten Island because we were asked by our attorney clients, the leading law firms and endless telephone calls requesting service by defendant families. It is evident to me that the defendant families here so happen to be some of the most under serviced and under represented pretrial release population in New York City," added Zouvelos.

Staten Islanders had only one existing bail company for nearly a decade. This sole entity dominated the marketplace mainly because office locations were almost non existent in the proximity of the Staten Island Criminal Courthouse. Because of this the choices in pretrial release or bail bondsman services have been previously limited, as this situation coupled with numerous complaints and lack of existing and adequate bail service became unacceptable to some in the judiciary and many criminal attorneys. After many years these entities finally reached critical mass over the perceived de facto monopoly on pretrial release bail bond services and approached Spartan Bail Bonds President & CEO George Zouvelos to make Staten Island his newest location.

"To our attorney clients and to us it is not a secret that the recipe for success in our commercial bail industry is to underwrite good and secure bail with courtesy, respect and friendly service coupled with compassion, timely service response to clients concerns and the successful management of a clients expectations," said Zouvelos. It is evident by our grand opening here on Staten Island today that Spartan Bail Bonds of New York City is the second bail company to presently open its doors to the public here, but is the first in customer care and professionalism," added Zouvelos.

Many Judges, criminal attorneys and industry experts maintain that the presence of a new bail company on Staten island after almost ten years is capitalism at its best. The entrance of a well noted top notch bail company and the decision to open on Staten island by the well respected New York State Professional Bail Bondsman George Zouvelos is a key indication that customer demand will always recruit and encourage better performing individuals and companies to move into an area were service is most needed and not immediately adequately available or received

"As Staten Island is concerned, we were receiving many inquiries and calls from attorneys and persons seeking bail not wishing to associate with or do business with the existing bail bond companies presently servicing Staten Island. The award, named after firefighter and soldier John Kulick who died while serving as a PA National Guardsman in Iraq, was created last year to honor an individual that goes above and beyond the call of duty for our community.

"Mr. Castor was chosen by the award committee based on his achievements as a member of the law enforcement community as well as for his support in honoring John Kulick for the sacrifices he made for all of us," said award committee member Michael Kalinsky of Empyrean Management Group.

Don Lynch, a Whitpain Township Firefighter/Paramedic and friend of John Kulick said, "Mr. Castor's support was instrumental in our petition efforts and has resulted in the commission of a war memorial honoring John and other local Iraqi war vets. I can't think of a better way to keep John's memory alive than to honor Mr. Castor for the difference he makes in our community."

Mr. Castor will be presented with the award at the 3rd Annual John Kulick Memorial Golf Outing on August 24, 2007 at Lederach Golf Club in Harleysville, PA. This year the golf outing will raise money to benefit the newly created Emergency Responders Assistance Fund. This fund will provide financial assistance to emergency responders and their families in need.

Both the award and golf outing were created to commemorate John Kulick's life and service, as a firefighter in his everyday life serving Whitpain Township and as a soldier who dedicated his life to fighting for his country and helping others.

Northampton, MA (PRWEB) November 6, 2006 -- The city council of Northampton, Massachusetts, passed new zoning legislation on November 2 to protect neighborhoods from the "secondary effects" of adult businesses. Large adult enterprises and establishments with porn viewing booths are restricted to Northampton's Highway Business District and must be at least 500 feet away from homes, schools, houses of worship, and certain other places where children are likely to be found. Northampton (population 29,000) is the home of Smith College, the nation's largest liberal arts college for women. Author John Villani calls Northampton the "#1 Small Arts Town in America".

Leading the charge for adult-use zoning has been NoPornNorthampton, a group of local citizens. "We support people's right to free expression, and we also believe that porn shops should not be located next to homes, schools and churches," says Jendi Reiter, legal counsel to NoPornNorthampton. "Case after case across the country state that these two goals are compatible, and that cities have the right to regulate the time, place and manner of viewing adult entertainment."

NoPornNorthampton was organized on June 30, two days after it became publicly known that Capital Video Corporation of Cranston, RI intended to open a 6,000+ square-foot adult enterprise at 135 King Street in Northampton. This location, a short walk from the center of town, is surrounded by homes, churches, mental health counseling centers and a school of dance. NoPornNorthampton believes this site is not appropriate for a large sexually oriented business, due to the well-documented risk of "secondary effects" of these businesses on their surroundings. These risks include crime, economic blight, business failures, declining property values, reduced pedestrian traffic, hazardous litter (e.g. used condoms) and harassment of passersby.

Between July 10 and November 2, NoPornNorthampton collected 1,551 signatures on petitions urging city officials to implement adult-use zoning and viewing booth health regulations. These signatures included 1,016 from residents of the city, and 535 from residents of the larger region and tourists.

NoPornNorthampton also conducted a broad public education campaign to raise awareness about porn, the porn industry, and the impact of adult businesses on communities. Its weblog at NoPornNorthampton.org currently exceeds 90,000 words of content, and routinely serves over 500 article views per day. On September 27, NoPornNorthampton mailed an open letter to virtually all the registered voters of Northampton, MA and Longmeadow, MA--over 29,000 people. This letter implored the property owners of 135 King Street, Barry G. and Annette E. Goldberg of Longmeadow, to find a more suitable tenant for their property than a porn merchant. The letter described the secondary effects of adult businesses and criticized the violent, misogynistic nature of the movies sold by Capital Video and its affiliates.

On November 2, the Northampton city council approved three adult-use ordinances by a two-thirds majority. These ordinances stress the city's desire to preserve and enhance its pedestrian-friendly character. "Because the large-scale adult establishments greater than 1,000 square feet have the tendency to create blank, inactive voids in the street fabric due to their size and façade treatments it is important to ensure that such businesses are not located within 500' of such walkable neighborhoods that include churches, residences or schools."

Traverse City, MI (PRWEB) October 24, 2006 -- Traverse Web today announced their "Pay it Forward" free web hosting program. Effective today, everyone is invited to freely bring their mission to the web.

Traverse Web has taken out the barriers between those with a website and those without a website and eliminated them for all of time. Everyone, even individuals, are invited to join the "Pay it Forward" free web hosting program.

In service to the community, Traverse Web will provide participants with a free domain name registration and one year of free web hosting (with a catch). The catch is that at some point during their first 12 months they must refer one paying customer to help fund the program. Once the paying customer is on board, an additional year of domain name registration and free web hosting is credited to their account.

In service to charity, Traverse Web reserves 25% of the referred paying customer's web hosting funds and donates them back to non-profit organizations in their local community. Non-profit organizations seeking to request funding from this program should visit the Pay it Forward website to enroll their group.

Michael W. Henton, President of Traverse Web commented, "I have always felt it was my mission in life to help others and to achieve that goal with the maximum of reach, I have brought my mission to the web. With this program, start up enterprises, local groups, churches, and even classrooms will all have a ready to go website to launch their own mission online. By providing them with a platform on the web, groups will now become more visible in their community in far less time and now have permanent testaments to their mission available online. By funding their purpose with both free web space and dollars received from referred paying customers, we go a long way towards helping them accomplish their mission. The 25% of funds we donate directly to these groups is an ongoing residual payment for the lifetime of the referred paying customer and can become a very large source of revenue over time. We believe goodwill comes full circle and that by Paying it Forward today, we can look forward to an even more rewarding tomorrow."

Included with the "Pay it Forward" free web hosting plan is 700MB of available web space, 70GB of monthly data transfer, 70 email accounts, free online content management system to build web pages, mySQL database manager, mailing list manager, and toll free technical support.
