New York, NY (Billboard Publicity Wire) January 9, 2007 -- On Tuesday 1/9 the debut album by Ror-Shak, 'Deep', will make its American debut via digital outlets only. The CD will not be available in stores until March 13th, through Koch Records. After garnering much acclaim during its prior release in Holland, a number of major music download portals have embraced Ror-Shak with prominent features and exclusive bonus singles in support of their USA release date including iTunes, Emusic, Rhapsody, Zune, Yahoo! Music Unlimited, Napster, and AOL Music Now.

Ror-Shak is a duo fronted by DJ DB and Stakka who on this title, have created a down-tempo, drum & bass, soulful chill, electronic mix -- a style not easily comparable with anything else. While inspired by groups such as Zero 7 and Royksopp, the exact genre of the album elicits interpretive responses from each listener, much like the group's namesake. Described as "like nothing else that's out there" by Billboard Magazine, Ror-Shak's music has also been praised by the likes of Moby & Scissor Sisters and was licensed by CSI, CSI NY, and MTV.

On this album, Ror-Shak has collaborated with a stellar lineup of vocalists including Julee Cruise, Lisa Shaw, Wendy Starland, Mark Holmes and Morningwood's Chantal Claret. Julee became world famous with the song "Falling", the title track on David Lynch's Twin Peaks which is still the best selling TV soundtrack to date. Lisa, who Madonna declared "so cool" in Rolling Stone Magazine, is nearly ubiquitous in the dance music scene as a "house diva" --- owner of an anonymous voice that soars above crowded dance floors at 3AM.

'Deep' took a full 12 months to create, in order to fulfill DJ DB and Stakka's vision of turning an extreme musical form, Drum & Bass, into something a more general music lover could find enjoyable and exciting while still not denying its roots. Both individuals have extensive roots in the dance and electronic scene including DB's history in A&R where he signed a project by Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim), Jason Nevins vs. Run DMC's "Its Like That" and Fischerspooner to Ministry of Sound. DJ Stakka started as a DJ in 1989 and added production to his resume in 1991. He is a legend in the Drum & Bass underground, where he has produced hundreds of records, many becoming club anthems. Remix highlights include Morcheeba's "The Sea" & Africa Bambaataa's "Planet Rock". Both DB and Stakka hail from the U.K. & currently live in Brooklyn, NY.
