Los Angeles, CA (PRWeb) November 22, 2006 -- The 14th Annual VA Holiday Celebration honoring over 2,000 US Armed Service Veterans and Active personnel and their families to be held on Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 1:30pm to 7:30pm on the grounds of the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Facility in Brentwood, CA. is still in need of over $18,000 in donations of food, gifts and financial contributions. The popularity of this annual event, has spurred such buzz from Vets outside of the West LA area, that organizers anticipate with less than 2 weeks away more than the estimated 2,000 guests will be in attendance, making it necessary to collect more donations in order to feed everyone. With less than two weeks away, organizers are still in need of over $18,000 in donations No veteran or active serviceperson, has ever been turned away.

The annual celebration for Veterans offers the opportunity for the community to honor and thank the veterans and active service personnel who have served our country during war and peace. Every year a mega "buffet style" dinner is prepared and donated by area restaurants and volunteers and served under a huge tent to guests, culminating in "a meal fit for kings"! For many in attendance, it is the highlight of the year.

Throughout the day, local bands and celebrities, topped off by a performance by Jim Belushi and The Sacred Hearts Band, will provide entertainment. Past celebrities in attendance have included Pamela Anderson, David Carradine, Solomon Burke Jr. and The Honorable Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

The Veteran's Holiday Celebration is free to all Veterans, Active Service Personnel and their families. Public, private and corporate donations are needed to make this event a success. Every penny of every dollar raised is given back to the Veterans and all donations are tax deductible.

The event is being sponsored entirely by volunteers and supported by donations from the public. The festivities are organized and produced by Men's Division International and The Family of Women South West Region and The VA GLA Voluntary Service.

Because The Veteran's Holiday Celebration is free to all Veterans, Active Service Personnel and their families, public and corporate monetary and other donations are desperately needed to make this event a success. Every cent of every dollar raised is given back to the Veterans. All donations are tax deductible.
