                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[Washington, DC (Vocus) December 11, 2008 --  The FTSE NAREIT Equity REIT Index is down 46.50 percent for the year, through Nov. 30, following a 23.06 percent decline in November. The FTSE NAREIT All REIT Index is down 45.92 percent for the year after dropping 21.51 percent in November, according to the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). 



The broader market indexes also struggled through the first 11 months of 2008. For the period, the NASDAQ Composite is down 42.10 percent, the S&#38;P 500 is down 37.66 percent, the Russell 2000 is down 37.42 percent, and the Dow Jones Industrials is down 33.44 percent.

The home financing REIT segment rebounded and moved into positive territory in November.

Investors, encouraged by the announcements of government initiatives to support the markets for residential mortgage-backed securities, moved back into residential mortgage REITs. Home financing REITs were up 5.12 percent in November and are up 2.12 percent in the fourth quarter, through Nov. 30.

The FTSE NAREIT All REIT Index is down 45.92 percent for the year after dropping 21.51 percent in November, according to the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). 



The broader market indexes also struggled through the first 11 months of 2008. For the period, the NASDAQ Composite is down 42.10 percent, the S&#38;P 500 is down 37.66 percent, the Russell 2000 is down 37.42 percent, and the Dow Jones Industrials is down 33.44 percent.

The home financing REIT segment rebounded and moved into positive territory in November.

Investors, encouraged by the announcements of government initiatives to support the markets for residential mortgage-backed securities, moved back into residential mortgage REITs. Home financing REITs were up 5.12 percent in November and are up 2.12 percent in the fourth quarter, through Nov. 30.

In order for a school to achieve this rating, 90% of students must pass all the state assessments.  Of the 1,621 middle schools in Texas, DaVinci is one of only 88 schools named exemplary, placing it in the top 5.4% of middle schools in the State. In order for a school to achieve this rating, 90% of students must pass all the state assessments.  Of the 1,621 middle schools in Texas, DaVinci is one of only 88 schools named exemplary, placing it in the top 5.4% of middle schools in the State.  DaVinci is also the only middle school in El Paso rated exemplary.  In addition to the exemplary rating, DaVinci was recognized with five TEA Gold Performance Acknowledgements including attendance, reading, math, science and social studies.

The school is part of a larger charter district - Burnham Wood Charter - which has implemented a consistent and proven educational model for success and has earned an exemplary rating as a district.  Of the 1,229 districts in the State of Texas, 43 districts (3.5%) are rated &quot;exemplary.&quot;   DaVinci is focused on more effective, deeper education in the STEM subjects - science, technology, engineering and math.

DaVinci students have out-performed traditional public schools on statewide exams. The school has been recognized for its achievements by the Texas High School Project--a public/private partnership to increase high school student performance sponsored by the Texas Education Agency, the Communities Foundation of Texas, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation (and other private foundations), along with an array of corporations interested in promoting STEM education.

&quot;We have achieved this level of success at DaVinci through high expectations in academics, behavior, and character,&quot; said Iris Burnham, Superintendent and Founder of the Burnham Wood Charter School District and President of the El Paso Education Initiative, Inc., a non-profit organization which serves as charter holder for the district.

These high expectations also include: a demanding college preparatory curriculum with emphasis on the STEM subjects and the arts, created by professional educators with more than 25 years of experience running public and private schools at all grade levels; class size limited to 25 per class/100 per grade to provide individual attention in order to build relationships with each student; and challenging capstone projects of the type normally found only at exclusive private schools and magnet schools. However, once those taxes are paid, all qualified withdrawals from your new Roth IRA are tax-free provided you hold your Roth IRA for at least five years and are at least 59 &#189; years of age. 

While investors often see the benefits of adding a tax-free Roth to their portfolio, the cash outlay to pay conversion taxes can be a hurdle they just can&#039;t clear. However, if you hold a traditional IRA account that has declined in value over the past year, it may be worth the initial cost to convert to a Roth.                         <content:encoded><![CDATA[Vail, Colo. (PRWEB) Nov. 20, 2008-- Manor Vail Lodge will re-open this Friday, Nov. 21, launching the 2008-2009 ski season with completion of an 18-month-long major update and renovation.

The enhancements, representing an investment of more than $100 million, include the addition of a penthouse floor, underground parking, pools, hot tubs, and walkways, along with a fully re-constructed wood and stone exterior.

The new 50,000-square-foot penthouse floor features 17 large, luxury condominiums ranging in size from two to five bedrooms. Each penthouse features elevator access to the front door, and views of the Gore Range and the Vail ski area. 

The new units, for sale to individual owners, are in addition to hotel room and condominium units available for vacation rental directly through Manor Vail.

The penthouse floor&#039;s design allowed for construction of the new units over the existing structure, yet does not interfere with views and ambience, according to Leanna Roberts, assistant general manager of Manor Vail. East West Partners of Avon, Colo., served as developer of the penthouse floor, with GE Johnson Construction Company, Inc. (Colorado Springs) as general contractor and Zehren and Associates of Avon as architects.

New underground parking features 136 parking spaces in a heated, 56,000-square-foot area. The space, heated in winter, is garden-covered in warmer months. Other enhancements include a new 33,000-gallon swimming pool and four hot tubs, and radiant slab heating to melt snow and ice on all pool decks and walkways.

As one of the first resort condominiums in Vail Village, built in 1964, Manor Vail Lodge occupies a premier location at the base of Golden Peak. With access to the Riva Bahn, Golden Peak has long been considered the quickest access point to the top of the one of the best ski mountains in the country. The enhancements, representing an investment of more than $100 million, include the addition of a penthouse floor, underground parking, pools, hot tubs, and walkways, along with a fully re-constructed wood and stone exterior.

The new 50,000-square-foot penthouse floor features 17 large, luxury condominiums ranging in size from two to five bedrooms. Each penthouse features elevator access to the front door, and views of the Gore Range and the Vail ski area. 

The new units, for sale to individual owners, are in addition to hotel room and condominium units available for vacation rental directly through Manor Vail.

The penthouse floor&#039;s design allowed for construction of the new units over the existing structure, yet does not interfere with views and ambience, according to Leanna Roberts, assistant general manager of Manor Vail. East West Partners of Avon, Colo., served as developer of the penthouse floor, with GE Johnson Construction Company, Inc. (Colorado Springs) as general contractor and Zehren and Associates of Avon as architects.

New underground parking features 136 parking spaces in a heated, 56,000-square-foot area. The space, heated in winter, is garden-covered in warmer months. Other enhancements include a new 33,000-gallon swimming pool and four hot tubs, and radiant slab heating to melt snow and ice on all pool decks and walkways.

As one of the first resort condominiums in Vail Village, built in 1964, Manor Vail Lodge occupies a premier location at the base of Golden Peak. With access to the Riva Bahn, Golden Peak has long been considered the quickest access point to the top of the one of the best ski mountains in the country. More than half - 53 percent - have a gloomy outlook about stock market performance in 2009, the fifth annual Wealth and Values Survey found. Only one in four (25 percent) are optimistic about the market next year. 

Despite this prevailing pessimism, however, two-thirds remain confident of the long-term as 67 percent responded &quot;I feel I have control over my financial future.&quot; Exactly half, 50 percent, said &quot;I am confident I&#039;m on the right track&quot; for retirement and only 15 percent said they will not meet their retirement goals.

&quot;Markets never bottom when investors are optimistic,&quot; said Thomas P. Melcher, executive vice president and managing director of Hawthorn, the division of PNC Wealth Management that serves clients with $20 million or more in investable assets. &quot;These findings represent a bottoming process. The number of sellers declines as pessimism rises and it appears that many investors are sitting on the sidelines waiting for a recovery. From a contrarian viewpoint, this is a positive development.&quot;

The survey of 1,263 wealthy Americans, all of whom had at least $500,000 in investible assets, also revealed that despite a dreary outlook on the stock market, almost two-thirds (65 percent) of the wealthy still like stocks as an investment compared to 18 percent who dislike that asset class.

&quot;Sophisticated investors know that in the long run, valuation drives future returns and the market is cheap on virtually every measure,&quot; Melcher said. &quot;Investors may not be happy at the current time, but they realize the market will eventually turn and when it does they are likely to be handsomely rewarded for their perseverance.&quot;

About the same number, 62 percent, are more pessimistic in the outlook for the U.S. economy in 2009. Only one in four (24 percent), meanwhile, are optimistic about their ability to get credit at reasonable rates.

Change Is Good: Among the wealthy there was an appetite for change in the White House. The survey, taken in September, revealed that 40 percent are optimistic about the election of a new U.S. president while 26 percent were neutral and 34 percent were pessimistic. 

Real Estate Worries: Fifty-seven percent are pessimistic about the outlook on the real estate market, about the same as last year (56 percent). In addition, half of those surveyed (50 percent) expect a continued decline in the value of their primary residence, almost double those (27 percent) who believe they will see an increase. One in three (33 percent) expect a drop of 5 percent or more. This outlook is the opposite of last year when 23 percent expected a decrease and 51 percent foresaw an increase in value.
