(PRWEB) June 3, 2006 -- The Bethel Inn Resort in Bethel, Maine opens the state’s only family vacation golf school on Father’s Day weekend, June 9. Maine golf courses have golf instruction packages for adults, and local club schools and day camps or clinics for kids but no shared program for parents and children. The Bethel Inn Resort, www.bethelinn.com, combines a summer vacation with daily golf instruction for the whole family.
The Family Golf School Vacation offers three hours daily of instruction in chipping and putting, iron and wood shots in real playing conditions, not only on the practice green and driving range but on the championship course’s individual holes.

The school is under the direction of Jason Hurd, the Bethel Inn Resort’s head golf professional, PGA member and recipient of Golf Digest’s 2003 & 2005 “Maine Golf Instructor of the Year” award as well as the “2006 Maine PGA Teacher of the Year”. Says Golf Director Hurd, “ In the past decade we’ve graduated over 5,000 adults in the Guaranteed Performance School of Golf and we aim to teach over 5,000 youngsters this great game in the decade ahead.”
